Book Blogger Love-A-Thon 2015 Questionnaire

If you guys don't know, Alexa from Alexa Loves Books is hosting a Book Blogger Love-A-Thon this weekend, complete with Twitter chats, giveaways, and more.   There's a questionnaire everyone can fill out to get to know each other better, so here's mine.

What’s your name? Liz

Where in the world are you blogging from? DC

How did you get into blogging in the first place? I started using GoodReads in 2007 and in 2009 I realized a lot of GoodReads users had their own blogs.

How did you come up with your blog name? I wanted something that would convey my at times over-the-top love of books, and a blog name that wasn’t already taken.  Consumed by Books fit the bill!

What genre do you read and review the most on your blog? Most of what I review winds up being young adult contemporary or fantasy, but other things work their way in occasionally.

What other types of posts do you do on your blog, apart from reviews? I like to do occasional discussion posts, book hauls, and Top Ten Tuesday posts.

Best blogging experience so far? Meeting people through blogging, whether they are book bloggers, authors, or librarians.  I’ve made a lot of good friends this way.

Favorite thing about the blogging community? Meeting awesome new bookish friends! And I love how with enough time spent on Twitter we end up bonding over other interests as well.

Name the 5 books you’re most excited for this 2015! A Darker Shade of Magic by Victoria Scwhab, The DevilYou Know by Trish Doller, Winter by Marissa Meyer, Stand-Off by Andrew Smith, and The Oprhan Queen by Jodi Meadows.

What’s an underrated book or series that you think everyone should read? I actually think The Lumatere Chronicles by Melina Marchetta don’t always get enough love.  I also hope more people pick up Pointe by Brandy Colbert.

Which book boy or girl would be your book BFF? I honestly don’t know!  Possibly Paige from The Start of Me and You by Emery Lord.

Apart from reading, what are your other hobbies or interests? I love running, cycling, and hiking
This one was taken during a really muddy ride.
when the weather is good for it!

Apart from book shopping, what else do you like shopping for? Clothes and accessories, honestly, but I’m also a big make-up person.

At a party, the DJ suddenly changes the song – and it’s your song. What song would be playing? Style by Taylor Swift, since I’m obsessed with 1989.

Pick out either a book you want turned into a film/TV show, or a film/TV show you want turned into a book.

I could see Pushing Daisies being turned into wonderful cozy mysteries.

  1. *waves nook* One of these days I'll get to Lumatere. They're alllllllll here!!! I've been listening to 1989 a lot, too! IDK which one is my favorite! Have you read SCHOOL FOR GOOD AND EVIL yet? Soman Chainani stated that the video for Blank Space is Sophie's story and when I watched, it was so true!

  3. YAY FOR A 1989 OBSESSION. I just adore Taylor Swift, as you probably well know from all of my Twitter flails over her! And I love that you mentioned The Lumatere Chronicles - one of my favorite fantasy series, because Marchetta is a brilliant writer. AAAAAND I can't wait for you to read The Orphan Queen, because Jodi is brilliant!

    Thanks for joining the Love-a-Thon!
