Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Books On My Spring 2014 TBR

So I'm getting this done a little last minute--I wasn't originally going to do this topic, but everyone else's list made me want to share mine.  I know some people are only listing frontlist titles or are dividing their lists up by frontlist and backlist, but I'm keeping things mixed up.  I decided to just list these in the order I thought of them.  As always, Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by the folks over at The Broke and the Bookish.

This one came out last summer and I've heard only complimentary things about it since.  I recently decided I couldn't take anymore and asked the person in charge of teen ordering at my library to get this one.  I also plan on reading Corey's spring release, Life by Committee, but this one will definitely get read in the more immediate future.

In 2013 I read and adored Haskell's book The Princess Curse.  This one not only won a Schneider Family Book Award, but Ally says it's even better than The Princess Curse. SOLD.

This should come as no surprise, since I can't shut up about how excited I am for this book. I LOVED Second Chance Summer and am so ready for more Morgan Matson in my life. I don't have an ARC of this one, so I'll be placing a pre-order and devouring it immediately when it arrives.

When I first head about this one, it didn't really stick on my radar because it looked pretty generic.  However, after hearing just about everyone's who read it positively rave on Twitter, I've decided I'll give it a shot. Luckily, I was approved for it on NetGalley yesterday. Wooohoo!

I actually attended the launch party for this book and have since heard nothing but good things--let's not forget it that was a finalist for the William C. Morris Award.  It is decidedly time for me to shut up and read it.

Daughter of Smoke and Bone was not my favorite book ever, but I've heard this one is much better.  Plus, this is also inspired by the release of Dreams of Gods and Monsters.

I like to squeeze in a classic every now and again.  This one has been on my TBR pile for a while and it looks short. I'll give it a shot.

I like to squeeze in an adult novel every now and again, and my grandmother recommended this one.  I'm excited to talk to her about it.

I read Shatter Me earlier this year and I really want to know what happens! I'm especially curious about chapter 62.  I also want to get caught up because everyone in the blogosphere is talking about this series.

This one has been on my TBR pile FOREVER and I recently saw Rachel mention on her blog how good it is.  Bumping it up!

And now, as a bonus, here is one book that should be on YOUR spring TBR.  Folks, if you haven't already read this one, pre-order.
I'll be reviewing this one around its release date, so keep an eye out. Now that you've added Pointe, what else is on your spring TBR?

  1. Point does look wonderful. I had hoped it would be at ALA-MW, but it wasn't. There are a couple on your list that made mine too. Happy reading!

    My TTT
LisaILJ @ I’ll Tumble for YA

  2. I find I'm kind of awful about getting to the second books in a series for some reason. I don't have them on my TTT but both the Laini Taylor and Tahereh Mafi titles on your list should be there considering how long I've had them on hand without reading them.

  3. Stargirl is one of my favorite books ever. I read it time and again when I was younger. I hope you like it. I recently read the sequel and thought it was also pretty good.

The Handbook for Dragon Slayers looks wonderful. I can't wait to see you review it. And I am pumped about a new Morgan Matson book. The only one of hers that I've read is Amy & Roger's Epic Detour.

  4. OMg, I really have to catch up and read DRAGON SLAYERS, too! I adoerd PRINCESS CURSE so much! And I am SO EXCITED for her new book!!!! Can't wait to r&r next month for Fairy Tale Fortnight! I'm going to re-try Laini Taylor this year. I'm determined to like her b/c I'm pretty sure I was in a "bad reading mood" my first go-round! I can finally read Tahereh Mafi's trilogy now that they're all out. Yay! Ooh, I have a copy of STARGIRL that I never read. I MUST!!!

  5. I'm genuinely surprised you haven't read Lord of the Flies! We had to read it in highschool. It was one of about three required books that I actually really liked. Omg. I want to read Pointe so badly.
